I was the lighting director for Project Rene at Maxis/EA. During my time on Project Rene, we released two publicly facing slices of the game, City Life Game With Friends and The Sims Labs: Life Together. I worked very closely with the art director and engineers in order to design a lighting system that specifically addressed our goals and constraints.
As part of my work on Project Rene, I created the lighting foundation, authored environment lighting, character lighting, and custom post processing shaders. The lighting scales beautifully no matter what device the game is played on.
